Evaluating the impact of play centers in children's area

Has anyone done an evaluation of play centers in their children’s areas and their impact on early literacy behaviors. I know many libraries, like ours, have installed play areas with “prompts” that help parents understand how play promotes early literacy. Our play centers are a very important component to our early literacy initiative, in addition to our storytimes, collection and outreach components. We would like to evaluate them in the same way we are evaluating the others.

I would appreciate any feedback you can provide.

I too would love to see a survey on Project Outcome on this topic, @nanceed ! We intend to use simple survey to assess the use and outcomes of our proposed early literacy play space, if we receive the LSTA grant we applied for.
